Centralian Citizen of The Year Awards acknowledge the unsung heroes of our community who through their contributions make our town a better place. These individuals and organizations offer outstanding service each day and enable our communities to be stronger as a result of their tireless efforts.
The Awards will be presented at the Australia Day Ceremony and Citizenship Ceremony on Sunday 26 January 2025. All nominees will be invited.
Centralian Citizen of the Year Award (30 years or older)
The Centralian Citizen of the Year Award recognizes a person who has made a noteworthy contribution during the current year or given outstanding service over a number of years to their community.
Senior Centralian Citizen of the Year Award (65 years or older)
The Centralian Senior Citizen of the Year Award recognizes a person who has made a significant contribution during the current year or given outstanding service over a number of years to their community; is an inspirational role model and displays continued excellence in their field.
Young Centralian Citizen of the Year Award (under 30 years of age)
The Young Centralian Citizen of the Year Award recognizes a person who has made a noteworthy contribution during the current year or given outstanding service over a number of years to their community.
Community Event of the Year Award
The Community Event of the Year Award recognizes and encourages the significant contribution local organizations / groups make to community life and promotes national pride and community responsibility.
To be eligible for the Award the Community Event must have occurred in the year prior to 18 November 2024 (nominations close date).
